PROJECT PRESENTATION

RHODOLIVE

Biovalorization of Olive Mill Wastewater (OMW) to Microbial Lipids and Other Products via Rhodotorula glutinis Fermentation

The main objective of our project is to develop a sustainable bioprocess for OMW bioremediation with R. glutinis in order to produce high value-added bioproducts; such as carotenoids, bioactive phenolic compounds, lipids etc. The demonstration in our project will focus on food products, meanwhile these compounds are also frequently used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals.

Duration: 36 months

Budget: 2m €

RHODOLIVE is an ERA CoBioTech project that is an ERA-Net Cofund Action -under H2020- aiming to strengthen the European Research Area in the field of Biotechnology.
