The goal of the Biomass and alternative raw materials focus area is to facilitate the development of breakthrough technologies, as well as innovation and product development in the area of innovative (bio)products based on renewable raw materials. Taking into account the demonstrated interest of stakeholders, the untapped Slovenian competitive advantages and the country’s resulting development potential, the Biomass and alternative raw materials focus area has been designed for the development of the following technological fields: (i) sustainable mobilisation of biomass; (ii) lignocellulose biorefinery for the isolation of polymer biomass building blocks and (iii) extracts and biorefineries that produce alternative raw materials, and a diversified range of product directions.
Keywords: sustainable mobilisation of biomass, ligno-cellulose biorefinery for the isolation of extracts and polymerbiomass building blocks, extracts and biorefineries that produce alternative raw materials, alternative biomass raw material, nanocellulose, bioproducts.
Goals and performance indicators of the Biomass and alternative raw materials focus area:
Goal 1: Development of new export-oriented high-tech products.
Goal 2: Development of export-oriented services based on new business models.
Goal 3: Increase the number of companies involved according to the SRIP openness principle.
Goal 4: Development of common R&D projects.
Goal 5: Transfer of innovation into the economy.
Goal 6: Development and building of prototypes.
Goal 7: Development and building of biorefinery facilities.
